The Hare and the Tortoise
Material: Chinese raw rice paper
Size: 10 X 10''
I got my Master Degree in Art & Design Education at The University of the Arts. During my second studying year, I took a class called Children's Book Illustration as my elective. This was the first project, and the requirement was making a detailed draft and pay attention to details such as composition, color, and content. What can I do? I guess I just forgot that good at children's style drawing did not equal to have the ability to create pictures for children's story. As a result, my draft looked plain and unpersuasive. How could I make it attractive? The only thing I could do and I am skillful in is paper cutting. Therefore, I transferred my draft to the Chinese raw rice paper, and created this piece. At the end, the professor liked it, and I like it, too! Happy ending!
